COMPANY CLASSES

AGES 6 & UP

BALLET

Ages 6 & up, 1-1.5 hours- Ballet is the foundation of many other dance forms, including lyrical and contemporary. Ballet teaches discipline, self-control, respect, and self-awareness. With a focus on Vaganova and Cecchetti techniques, our ballet classes are meticulous explorations of form, alignment, and artistry. Led by experienced instructors, students delve into ballet's rich vocabulary, building strength, grace, poise, flexibility, and musicality with each step. Our emphasis is on proper technique, placement, and terminology. Students will explore barre work, center work, and across the floor exercises as well as learning different ballet variations, both modern and classical. 

Pointe/pre-pointe

Teacher approval required-30 minutes- By invitation only, students must also be enrolled in two regular ballet classes. Led by experienced instructors, this class focuses on strength, poise, and precision en pointe.

 

Jazz

Ages 6 & up-45 min-1 hour- Jazz dance is a form of dance that combines both African and European dance styles. This high-energy, upbeat, and fun class combines classic style with contemporary forms. Our sessions are a dynamic blend of rhythm, precision, and expression. Dancers will learn proper technique and vocabulary and participate in a center warm-up, isolations, stretches, battements, leaps, extensions, pirouettes, across-the-floor progressions, and choreography combinations. Students will have the opportunity to hone their skills, develop stage presence, and unleash their unique style. Perfect for those who crave physical challenges and creative expression, jazz is an exhilarating journey of self-discovery and active participation.

Tap

Ages 6 & up-45 min-1 hour- Tap dance is a percussive style celebrated for its vibrant sounds. Our classes blend Broadway and contemporary Rhythm-Tap styles, focusing on precision and musicality. Starting with foot isolating warm-ups, we progress to skill-building in the center and traveling across the floor. From learning choreography to honing improvisation, our classes are a rhythmic adventure for all!

 

Hip Hop

Ages 6 & up- 45 min-1 hour- Rooted in hip hop culture and music, this dynamic dance form borrows elements from African dance, tap, and more. Originating as a freestyle dance in the streets, hip hop incorporates diverse styles like krumping, popping, locking, house, and breaking. With high energy, complex footwork, and attitude to spare, our classes are a celebration of versatility and individuality. We offer specialized classes for each variation associated with Hip Hop (e.g. Popping 101, etc.)

  

contemporary/lyrical

Ages 6 & up- 45 min-1 hour- Focusing on feelings, concepts, themes, and storytelling, this style grants dancers mature artistic freedom to convey emotions through movement. Combining ballet, jazz, and modern dance elements, students explore the connection between mind and body. From center warm-ups to floorwork, improv to choreography, our classes offer a comprehensive journey of self-discovery and expression.

  

Modern

Ages 10 & up- 1 hour- Drawing from the rich traditions of Graham, Horton, Limon, and Hawkins, our classes delve into the foundations of modern dance technique. Dancers explore suspension, contraction and release, fall and recovery, and the seamless connection of breath with movement. Through combinations, floor work, and partnering, students discover new avenues of movement expression. Embracing improvisation, dancers unleash their creativity, pushing the boundaries of traditional dance forms.

  

Musical Theater

Ages 6 & up- 45 min-1 hour- the stage comes alive with this jazz-based Broadway style class. Our dynamic sessions blend jazz dance with acting and singing, creating a vibrant exploration of performance art. Students will learn vocal warm-ups, comedy sketches, dramatic acting skills as well as solid dance technique. Through character development, acting exercises, and vocal training, students learn to embody their roles with authenticity and emotion. With an emphasis on connecting with the audience and perfecting facial expressions, our class ensures performers shine both on and off the stage.

  

Acro

Ages 6 & up- 45 min-1 hour- Unlike traditional gymnastics floor routines, acro emphasizes smooth transitions between dance and tumbling skills, with each movement thoughtfully connected to the next. From headstands to cartwheels and walkovers, students master a range of acrobatic techniques, including partner and group tricks. As dancers progress, they work towards advanced skills like aerials and handsprings, all while increasing strength, flexibility, and fluidity in their movements. Our classes begin with warm-ups, stretching, and conditioning before transitioning to mat sequences and skill-building exercises.

  

pom & drill

Ages 6 & up- 45 min-1 hour Pom/Drill is designed to train dancers in the energetic and synchronized movements commonly seen in pom and drill team performances. This class focuses on building precision, coordination, and teamwork, preparing dancers to excel in group routines often featured in sports events and entertainment shows. Whether aspiring to join a school team or simply seeking a high-energy dance experience, our Pom & Drill class provides the perfect platform to enhance skills and foster a sense of camaraderie among dancers.

  

Strength & conditioning

Ages 8 & up- 30-45 min- Our dynamic sessions are designed to build strength, enhance endurance, and improve overall conditioning. Each class offers a diverse range of exercises targeting different muscle groups and functional movements. From weightlifting to bodyweight exercises, circuits to cardio intervals, we tailor our workouts to challenge and motivate participants of all fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, our classes provide a supportive environment where you can push your limits and achieve your goals.

stretch & feet

Ages 8 & up- 30-45 min- In this specialized class, dancers engage in a series of stretching exercises designed to improve range of motion and prevent injuries. Additionally, we dedicate time to foot strengthening exercises to enhance stability and technique. We combine dynamic and static stretches tailored to dancers' needs, along with targeted exercises to develop strong, articulate feet. Whether you're a beginner or advanced dancer, this class offers a supportive environment to refine your technique and achieve your dance goals.

leaps, turns, & jumps

Ages 8 & up- 30-45 min- This dynamic class is dedicated to perfecting the art of leaps, turns, jumps, and even incorporating exciting tricks into your repertoire. Led by experienced instructors, each session focuses on refining technique, enhancing power, and mastering control in a variety of movements. From grand jetés to pirouettes, fouettés to aerials, dancers of all levels will find challenges and opportunities for growth in this exhilarating class. Whether you're looking to finesse your technique or add flair to your performances, Leaps, Turns, and Jumps Class is the perfect place to soar!

Yoga

Ages 10 and up- 45min-1 hour-Step into a serene sanctuary for our rejuvenating yoga class. Led by experienced instructors, each session blends mindful movement with breath work to foster strength, flexibility, and inner calm. Suitable for all levels, our classes offer a space to unwind and connect mind, body, and spirit. Join us for a revitalizing experience on the mat.

 

Lab sessions

Ages 10 and up- 6 week sessions- 30 min-1 hour- improv/freestyle and choreography session- Embark on a transformative journey of dance exploration with our six-week Freestyle/Improv and Choreography Lab Sessions. In the Freestyle sessions, immerse yourself in the art of spontaneous movement, guided by experienced instructors who encourage you to unleash your creativity and expressiveness without inhibition. Feel the rhythm of the music as you explore new movements and find your unique artistic voice.

 

Transition into the Choreography Lab sessions, where you'll delve into the intricacies of crafting structured and intentional dance pieces. Learn the fundamentals of choreography, from composition to storytelling, as you collaborate with fellow dancers to bring your vision to life. Receive personalized feedback and guidance from our instructors as you refine your choreographic skills and hone your ability to communicate through movement.
